StayToned ("we", "us", or "our") provides a macro tracking app that uses AI to help you log meals. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
What StayToned does
StayToned lets you log meals from photos, descriptions, barcodes, or manual entry, review AI-generated nutrition estimates, edit those estimates, and track daily macro progress. Nutrition values are estimates and should not be treated as medical measurements or advice.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you create an account, we store identifiers and profile details needed to sign you in and sync your data, such as your email address and display name.
- Meal and nutrition data. This includes meal photos you choose to upload, ingredient and macro entries you save, and edits you make to AI-generated estimates.
- Targets and preferences. Daily macro targets, units, theme settings, and similar app preferences you configure.
- Optional health data. If you connect Apple Health or a supported health platform, we may read or write only the metrics you approve, such as weight or energy burned. You can revoke health sync from the app.
- Privacy-safe product analytics. If analytics are enabled, we record limited product events such as feature usage. Analytics do not include photos, raw nutrition values, health details, AI prompts, or provider payloads.
- Support requests. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address and request details.
How we use information
- Provide meal logging, AI-assisted nutrition estimates, syncing, and progress tracking.
- Authenticate your account and keep the service secure.
- Store your entries and preferences so they are available across your devices.
- Improve reliability and understand product usage through privacy-safe analytics.
- Respond to export, deletion, and other support requests.
AI processing
When you request AI analysis of a meal photo, the image and limited context needed for estimation are sent to our server-side AI pipeline. Results are returned as editable estimates. We do not treat AI output as medical-grade measurement.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We use service providers only as needed to run StayToned, such as:
- Cloud hosting, authentication, database, and storage providers.
- AI providers used for server-side meal analysis.
- Sign-in providers you choose, such as Apple or Google.
- Email or support tooling used to handle account requests.
These providers process data on our behalf under contractual and security obligations.
Data retention
We keep account, meal, and preference data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. If you request account deletion, we handle the request after verifying account ownership and delete or de-identify personal data unless we must retain limited information for legal, security, or dispute-resolution reasons.
Your choices and rights
- Turn privacy-safe analytics on or off in the app.
- Revoke Apple Health or other health sync permissions from the app or your device settings.
- Request an export of your account data from the app.
- Request account deletion from the app.

Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including access controls and encrypted transport. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
StayToned is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
International users
StayToned may process and store information in countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the app, you understand that your information may be transferred to those locations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by other reasonable means.
